ISO 12233:2017 eSFR Enhanced Edition
The Imatest enhanced version ISO 12233:2017 eSFR test card has all the functions of the ISO 12233 standard test card, maintaining a 3:2 aspect ratio, adding six tilted squares for measuring performance near image boundaries, and adding hyperbolic wedges for visual analysis or analysis using the eSFR ISO module. When generated using color supported technology, it also includes 16 color blocks. As these additional items are located in areas not covered by the standard, compliance with the standard is not affected. The enhanced version also offers additional wedge options. The maximum wedge frequency of 4000 LW/PH is suitable for higher resolution cameras, but only for 4x sized graphics cards.
The following lists the differences between the Imatest graphics card and the graphics card shown in ISO 12233 standard:
1. Use the OECF grayscale pattern with 20 patches instead of the 16 patch version.
The focal pattern at the center of the square is rectangular (to increase the MTF measurement area), aimed at reducing interference with automatic edge detection.
3. There are four registration marks instead of three for automatic area detection. Projection transformation requires four features.
4. The additional mark above the registration mark in the lower left corner is used to detect the direction of the chart.
The difference between the enhanced version and the standard version is as follows:
1. Added six additional tilted blocks for measuring performance near image boundaries.
2. Several hyperbolic wedges with spatial frequencies, similar to the CIPA test card referenced in ISO standards, used for visual analysis or in conjunction with the Imatest Wedge module.
3. 16 color blocks, produced using technology that allows for color (inkjet or color LVT), with colors similar to the industry standard 24 color test card.
Starting from Imatest 4.0 version, this chart will be used in conjunction with the fully automated eSFR ISO module.
