A calibration chamber with a light source is a specialized device used for standardized calibration and performance verification of optical, lighting, imaging, and color measurement equipment. Its core function is to configure a standard light source within a relatively stable and controllable enclosed space. By controlling parameters such as light source type, color temperature, brightness, illuminance, and uniformity, it provides a repeatable standard testing environment for devices such as cameras, spectrometers, colorimeters, luminance meters, and illuminance meters.
1. Main Features
(1) Standard Light Source: Different light sources such as D65, D50, A, and TL84 can be configured according to requirements.
(2) Stable Light Source: Constant current drive and stable control are used to reduce errors caused by factors such as light source aging and temperature changes.
(3) Uniform Illuminance: The internal optical design of the chamber ensures relatively uniform illumination in the test area.
(4) Controllable Parameters: The brightness, color temperature, or operating mode of the light source can be adjusted.
(5) Light-Shielding Design: The enclosed structure reduces the influence of ambient stray light on the calibration results.
(6) Easy Calibration: It can be used with standard white boards, standard gray boards, and standard color cards to achieve instrument calibration, comparison, and repeatability testing.
2. Basic Principles
The calibration box integrates a high-density LED array and special optical diffusion materials. Through precise optical design, it achieves uniform illumination across the entire surface (uniformity ≥95%), eliminating interference from shadows, reflections, and ambient stray light. The calibration plate is fixed in a preset position inside the box and possesses known high-precision physical coordinate information. After the camera captures the image, corner points or center features can be extracted to establish a precise mapping relationship between the image pixel coordinate system and the world physical coordinate system. Through the closed box design, the calibration environment is completely controllable and unaffected by changes in external ambient light, ensuring high repeatability and stability of the calibration results.
3. Application Areas
The calibration box with light source is widely used in machine vision, color detection, LED/lighting detection, display screen detection, printing and packaging, industrial cameras, and optical instruments.
